How To Train A Labrador: Three Valuable Methods

Knowing how to train a labrador is vital if you want a companion to give you great memories that last a lifetime.  Labrador retrievers just demand loads of action and attention, but they won’t know what they are doing unless they are properly trained.  Three of the most basic training techniques are leash training, command training, and rewarding good behavior.  Contrary to popular belief, anyone can do these.  These methods on how to train a labrador are explained below.

For leash training, you want to stay in front of your Labrador and don’t get behind.  You want to do this because your Labrador will tend to think that they’re supposed to be the leader and not the follower and will begin to pull and drag you instead of you leading the way.  Make sure that you are the one in front and they’ll know that you’re the one that leads.

For command training, teach them the basic sit, stay, and come commands.  This will help them behave better in the long run, and this is also the bare foundation for the more advanced commands.  Commands are cruical when learning how to train a labrador.

At last, for rewarding good behavior, basically give them loads of treats and attention, and STAY CONSISTENT.  If you don’t, your Labrador will be an unstable dog.
